Therapy Rooms & Training Room
LIFE-FORCE Centre occupies a splendid Georgian building on East Hill which offers a safe, warm & professional ambiance suitable for both one to one therapies and medium sized groups and courses. Previous renovation works restored many of the original features back to their period charm and character.
The Centre has 7 therapy rooms which are furbished to an individual theme and finished to create a calm, warm and relaxing atmosphere. Each room has two comfortable chairs, a small table, Venetian blinds to diffuse the light and double glazing to maintain a peaceful space.
The Centre also has one training/group room which is suitable for holding training courses, continuing professional development (CPD) workshops and weekly groups.
Ground Floor – Disabled Access
The Sapphire Room
This room, as the name might suggest has a deep blue calming theme and is suitable for both individual & couple work. It is situated on the ground floor and is therefore accessible to disabled visitors including those who may be temporarily unable to manage the stairs.
First Floor
The Emerald Room
As the name suggests this room has a deep green and gold theme with brass and cream furnishings creating a more traditional style. It is a spacious room suitable for individual & couple work.
The Amber Room
The Amber Room has a warm welcoming feel created by the deep terracotta colour of the chairs and furnishings. Its slightly smaller size creates a cosier atmosphere which is preferred by some of our therapists when working on an individual basis.
The Coral Room
The tasteful theme of rich russet and gold along with the beech furnishing blend to give a more modern impression to the Coral Room. This therapy room is larger in size and is suitable for individual & couple work.
The Amethyst Room
The Amethyst Room is situated at the rear of the property and has a particularly uplifting feeling created by the pale lilac theme and natural daylight. This room is a beautiful space suitable for both individual and couple work.
SECOND Floor
The Topaz Room
At the top of the building we have a bright room with a sink which is suitable for both counselling and creative therapy. However, this room is not suitable for disabled clients.
Basement
The Play Room
This room is specifically furbished to meet the needs of a versatile dedicated playroom. It is decorated in pale cream creating a light space with a sink & washable floor, which makes it ideal for the use of paints and other art materials and creative media.
There are two large light oak storage cupboards containing a vast range of toys and games purposely selected to appeal to younger clients of all ages. It has a warm & inviting feel ideal for working with children and young people. The space is cleared after use and is therefore also suitable for adult client sessions.
The Main Kitchen
The main kitchen is designed to meet the needs of a busy centre. It has a large handmade beech table and is equipped with a fridge, cooker and microwave. It is a bright welcoming place which is open to all those who visit and use the Centre’s facilities. Hot drinks are available and it is a space that can sometimes be used for quiet contemplation and at other times is more interactive and sociable. The city centre is only a few minutes walk away where many lunch venues and take-aways can be found.
ground floor Training & Group Room
The Rainbow Room
The Rainbow Room is a large light space due to large period windows at either end of the room and is easily accessible being on the ground floor. The room is suitable for training courses, meeting and groups, has a capacity for 12-18 people and is mostly available weekdays during the day, evenings and occasional weekends. There is a kitchenette area at one end of the room with tea & coffee facilities.
Room Hire information
The Centre hires out all the rooms to qualified counsellors on an independent basis depending on current room availability. To register to hire rooms, independent counsellors and trainers need to provide evidence of relevant qualifications, professional membership and insurance plus a DBS Enhanced Certificate when applicable. Please note the rooms are not suitable for therapists who use a massage couch.
Therapy Rooms are available at £11.00 / hour with a 48 hour cancellation arrangement. We have an electronic diary which means rooms can be conveniently booked and cancelled remotely.
The Rainbow Room is £21.00 / hour with a 2 week cancellation notice. Trainers and facilitators who book this room are able to advertise their courses and events through our marketing mail out, for which there is a set fee.

Due to health and safety and environmental considerations we have a ‘no candle policy’, ‘no music policy’ and a smoke-free policy at the Centre.
