WHAT IS COUNSELLING?

Counselling is a process which involves skills of caring and listening and prompting. A counsellor will be supportive but give little or no direct advice, since the aim is to help the individual to develop insights into their own problems.

Through talking and sharing a person is helped to explore their thoughts, possibly difficult or painful feelings and related behaviours and thereby reach a clearer self understanding. During this exploration the person is helped to find and use their inner resources and strengths so that they can cope more effectively with life by making appropriate decisions and taking relevant action.

MEET OUR COUNSELLING TEAM

The LIFE-FORCE Counselling Team is comprised of a diverse team of qualified counsellors who offer a range of counselling approaches, meaning we aim to allocate each client enquiry with the right counsellor.

All our team counsellors are registered members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and work within the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions which includes the requirement for on-going monthly supervision.

FEES & APPOINTMENTS

Session fees are based on each counsellor’s therapeutic experience and years of professional practice. We also offer low-cost counselling at £10 per session with our student counsellors, who are in their second or third year of training and on placement at our Centre. These sessions are part of their qualification requirements.
